The Ping G20 fairway woods is a little deeper front to back and the face is a little taller than the Ping G15 Fairway Wood it replaces, which is a good thing as Ping fairways are generally a little on the shallow side. We like oversized fairways as we think they are more forgiving, especially off the tee, and the G20 fairways have hit the mark for us here. The steel clubhead sat very nicely at address with the lighter silver head colour adding to the larger hard appearance which we like in fairway woods.
Larger Head Profile
A large, deeper-profile head features external weighting to position the CG farther back and increase the MOI on the horizontal axis for higher-launching, more-forgiving results.
Optimized Face Height
A high MOI on the vertical axis and a shallow, forgiving face combine for more accuracy and distance while offering and easy-to-hit, visually appealing option from the fairway or tee.
In terms of looks, the Ping G20 fairway wood benefits from the familiar crescent alignment aid on the crown and the muscular size of the head certainly looks appealing at address.
